Everyone knows the story of Mitt Romney strapping the family dog into a carrier on the rooftop of their station wagon for a twelve-hour journey to Canada.
Neil Swidey of The Boston Globe relays the not-so-pretty details of what happened to the dog and how Willard reacted during the trip.

A lot of Firebaggers reckon we can weather four years with a man like Romney at the helm of the country. After all, they reckon, the Republicans recouped in four years' time, maybe the Progressives would come back stronger.
We haven't come back any stronger after 8 years of George Bush - if anything, certain tranches of the Progressive movement have worked unwittingly with the Republicans to ensure that the President is undermined regularly. We've weakened ourselves.
With President Romney to guide us, the best we can hope for is to shit ourselves in exasperation and have President Willard hose us down and plough on ahead. Cold comfort.
And anyone reminding me that Hitler loved his dog, let me remind you, that Hitler tested the poison he intended Eva Braun to use on Blondi, his dog, and all her puppies first.
Keep on undermining the President, and we condemn ourselves to becoming Willard's unwitting bitches.
